Wave7 Optics’
Trident7™ Universal Access Platform affords the most options
to network operators by providing support of all three standards (GE-PON,
Active Ethernet (Point-to-Point), and GPON) from a common platform.
Regardless of which standard they choose to embrace, Wave7 Optics
can meet the needs of network operators worldwide without marketing
a bias toward one standard or technology. Wave7 Optics' customers
can rest assured they are deploying the network that will best serve
their needs.

HIGH DENSITY
Trident7 is amongst the highest capacity OLTs
available. Utilizing a typical 1 x 32 split on each interface, as
many as 2,304 ONTs can be supported by a single OLT requiring only
14 RU of rack space. Up to three fully populated Trident7 OLTs, providing
support for up to 6,912 ONTs when using 1 x 32 splits, may be mounted
in a single standard telecommunications rack. Splits of 1 x 8, 1 x
16, and 1 x 64 are also supported.
INTEGRATED AGGREGATION
SWITCHING & RESILIENCY
Trident7 OLTs include either one or two embedded
multilayer aggregation switches, which eliminate the need to purchase
and manage expensive third party aggregation platforms. Each of these
switch modules provides up to 10 Gbps of network connectivity, wire-speed
Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching, and full VLAN and Q-in-Q VLAN stacking
support. Full resiliency and redundancy are supported using link aggregation,
Rapid Spanning Tree and Open Shortest Path First protocols for delivery
of carrier class network availability.
TRIDENT7 COMPACT OLT
Wave7 Optics delivered the industry’s first
temperature hardened FTTP OLT in 2001. At the time, many in the FTTP
industry scoffed at the need for thermally hardened OLTs and have
since introduced similar products. This innovative feature is also
offered in the Trident7 Compact OLT (COLT). Thermally hardened for
operation at temperatures ranging from -40° to +60° C, the
Trident7 COLT uses the same GE-PON, Active Ethernet, and GPON interface
modules used in the Trident7 OLT. Requiring only 2 RU of rack space,
the COLT can be deployed in non-climatically controlled cabinets to
deliver triple-play services to smaller pockets of up to 512 ONTs,
assuming 1 x 64 splits, or can be used to extend network reach and
push resiliency closer to the network edge.
INDOOR & OUTDOOR
ONT's
Wave7
Optics provides several models of both indoor and outdoor ONTs. Our
indoor ONTs support combinations of 10/100BASE-T and 1000BASE-T ports
in aesthetically pleasing housings. The multiple high bandwidth data
ports on these ONTs are ideal for subscribers who want to have dedicated
ports for IP video, VoIP, or multiple computers without the need for
a separate hub or router inside the premises. Our outdoor ONTs are
rugged, field-hardened devices designed for dependable operation in
harsh environments. They may be mounted outside the customer premises,
and can provide data, voice, and both IP and RF video with integrated
RF return to as many as eight subscribers.
